Daily Bites Of God’s Word – Part 27 – Psalm 119:27

Just as we need daily food to sustain us physically, we also need daily food from God’s Word to sustain us spiritually.

Psalm 119:27 LSB

27 Make me understand the way of Your precepts,
So I will muse on Your wondrous deeds.

There is a great cause and effect that happens with God’s Word. The more one understands and applies God’s Word the more they want to meditate on it. In particular, the more one sees the harmony and consistency of God’s Word, the more one praises God’s wonderful works!

Word Study

Make Me Understand – to understand, discern, consider, perceive, and be skillful.

Way – the road, path, journey, manner, conduct.

Precepts – statutes, commandments, mandate.

Muse – meditate, to ponder.

Wondrous Deeds – wonderful works, extraordinary deeds, to separate or distinguish oneself.

Our goal is to understand and be skillful in applying God’s Word in our lives. God’s Word is the roadmap, to how we should live. Our journey should consist of walking the straight path before us and meditating on all that God has revealed for us.
