Daily Bites Of God’s Word – Part 14 – Psalm 119:14

Just as we need daily food to sustain us physically, we also need daily food from God’s Word to sustain us spiritually.

Psalm 119:14 LSB

14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
As much as in all riches.

It is one thing for us to obey God’s Word and to live a holy life. However, when was the last time you It doesn’t matter how much you have because you can’t take it with you. You have no doubt heard this at some point in your life. The New Testament tells us that where our treasure is, our hearts will be also. There are no riches on this earth that can take the place of God in our lives. We are to be glad and rejoice in God and the life He has given us.

Word Study

In the way – the road, path, journey, manner, a course of action.

As in all – over against, concerning.

Riches – possessions, riches, wealth, an accumulation of goods.

What is being said here is that the amount of riches one has is but nothing compared to the surpassing value of knowing God, knowing His Word, and living in submission to it. We are to live and walk a path, journey, and course of action that is in line with God’s testimonies. This will bring us increasing joy!
